At the Market: Chip Madness
Welcome to At the Market, part of our Community Events series from Kelly's Market & Deli in Downtown Decatur, where we bring the neighborhood together for the moments worth showing up for.
Chip Madness Is Here — and Decatur Has to Decide
March Madness has brackets. Kelly's Market has chips.
Chip Madness 2026 is officially live, and we're not exaggerating when we say things are about to get heated. Sixteen chips entered the bracket. Only one walks away with the Crunch Crown. And Decatur, you're the ones voting.
This isn't random. Every chip in the bracket earned its spot. We seeded them based on real sales data, customer write-ins, and a healthy amount of staff debate. The result is four regions packed with matchups that are genuinely hard to call. Can Voodoo reclaim its title as reigning champ?
The Matchups Worth Watching
Every region has a storyline, but a few matchups are already causing arguments.
The Spicy Region is chaos waiting to happen.
Zapp's Voodoo is the #1 seed and our top-selling chip in this region. But Zapp's Blackened BBQ Ranch is right behind it as a fresh competitor. The classroom favorite Takis is up there this year, but you all wrote in Utz Red Hot. Who will take this region and reign supreme for carrying the heat?
The Kettle Region is where the foodie personality shows up.
Kettle Sea Salt, Jalapeño, Salt & Vinegar, and Sour Cream & Onion are all in here — our actual best-selling Kettle flavors, seeded by real numbers. Some of these are Kelly’s staples and aren’t going anywhere, but can they claim the title?
This year, the Kelly's Favorites Region is the wild card.
We put chips in here that we personally love (and you do too!) Chips like Boulder Canyon Malt Vinegar & Sea Salt, Boulder Canyon Blue Corn, Kettle Honey Dijon, and Kettle Garlic Parmesan. These are the discovery chips. The ones customers try because we told them to, and never go back. This region is anyone's game.
The Comfort Classics Region is where you and your friends disagree.
These are the chips people feel deeply about and argue loudly over. Sour cream, two types of BBQ, and write in dominator, Cheetos are sure to keep things interesting.

While you're in, why not grab a sandwich. Fresh, made to order on locally baked bread. Browse the market. Ask us what wine to open this weekend, or why not a couple mix and match THC beverages. We've got a pretty good selection of those too.
Kelly's Market & Deli is open Monday through Saturday 7am to 9pm, Sunday 8am to 9pm.
The Crunch Crown is up for grabs. Who are you voting for?
